Weekly Update Noyzelab, Gnod, Polytechnic Youth, Objekt, Peggy Gou, Last-Minute In-Stock Gifts

Our final round-up of the year. Last-minute gift ideas, 2018's Best Sellers, and our very best Christmas wishes!

Last chance for Christmas

UK folk: it's the day of destiny. Your very, very, very last chance to meet the Christmas posting date is upon us. Order in-stock items by 2pm today to stand any chance whatsoever of them arriving for Christmas.

To help you out, here are some useful lists of items that are in-stock and ready to ship:

Gift vouchers

If, after all this, you’re still stuck then grab a Gift Voucher. If you want a ready-printed postcard then the same 2pm deadline applies, but if you miss that then you can set up an email or even print your own at any time.

Opening hours

We're open until 4pm Friday 21st December. A reduced team will be here on 27th and 28th December to ship out as many orders as possible, deal with returns, answer email queries, etc. but we won’t be returning properly until Tuesday 2nd January.

Albums of the Year

Our usual Album of the Year list will be published on 12pm Friday 28th December. Set an alarm.

Actual music news

Right, really not much coming in this week apart from mince pies (which we ate) but here are a few things for your Christmas vinyl fix. Because there's so little, we've combined new stuff with reissues. Together at last!

Oh, and ex-staffer / writing machine Robin has kindly written us not one but two articles on a couple of our favourite labels:

Ant’s Electronic Round Up

We three kings of Prurient are.

  • Objekt’s second album on PAN is finally here on vinyl. CD to follow…
  • First three volumes in the Noyzelab ultra-limited edition, epic, five volume 3CD series of meditation drone works on Brain Grainger’s Psøma Psi Phi imprint.
  • Peggy Gou remixed by Jamal Moss, Jay Daniel and I:Cube on super limited, hand stamped white label 12" via Ninja Tune.
  • Both Low Jack and Clara! 12"s from Editions Gravats' Les Disques De La Bretagne series re-pressed and bundled together. Revised dancehall/reggaeton bombs.
  • Final installment in the Eotrax collaborative series is an ace from Kamikaze Space Programme & Eomac. 100 copies only, pressed on transparent yellow wax.
  • Slammin’ limited edition 4-track 12" EP on Headstrong from Randomer. Bangs.
  • Class deep space ambient CD from ASC. The second in his ‘Trans-Neptunian Objects’ series on his Auxiliary label.
  • Braindance alert! Synectics reissue action. Includes 3 tracks from the original 1993 Rephlex CD version, never available on vinyl before. Edition of 300 copies.
  • Psychedelic drone-folk sound collages from Silvester Anfang member/Kraak label boss Steve Marreyt as Edgar Wappenhalter. 150 copies in screen-printed sleeve.
  • Ace, deep icy techno from Valentino Mora on Donato Dozzy and Neel's consistently reliable Spazio Disponibile label.
  • DMX Krew on form on his own Breakin’ label with an EP of techno/electro/acid.
  • Howlround aka Robin The fog wanders The Debatable Lands on his LP for Touch.
  • Oldskool inspired Posthuman EP on Craigie Knowes. Bleep and acid galore.
  • London Modular Alliance aka Koova, Yes Effect and Pip Williams exploring crisp electro, acid and a fine hardcore tinged tune on International Black.
  • Olde 1992 Kiss FM broadcast from Dutch trio CultureClash who almost ended up on Irdial Discs.
  • Stellar represses from Pendant (aka Huerco S.) Christoph de Babalon and Shinichi Atobe.
