Funkadelic
One Nation Under A Groove

Originally issued in 1978 'One Nation Under a Groove' is a reissue of one of the defining albums of the funk movement. Put together by mothership mastermind George Clinton, Funkadelic absorbed all the best elements of seventies psychedelia, rock and funk spawning a P-Funk empire of cartoon-inspired imagery, futuristic space travel and sonic adventure.

The Notwist
Nook

Nook is the second full-length album to be recorded by German band, The Notwist and was originally released in 1992. Nook is an example of their early sound which took in elements of heavy metal and dark indie rock rather than their later electronica sound for which they are more well known. Nook is available on CD.

The Notwist
12

The Notwist were formed in 1989 in Germany. The band's first few albums could be classed as heavy metal or dark indie rock. 12, their third album from 1995 is regarded as being the point of transition from their early dark, guitar-driven sound to their later more acclaimed electronica sound. 12 is reissued on CD and LP

Blind Owl
Blind Owl

An interesting one here. Blind Owl were three Canadian chaps from Ontario who pressed only 100 copies of this LP which was intended only for friends and people who saw them perform at the very few shows they did. The LP was recorded at home on a reel to reel tape and all the songs are original compositions of gentle folk harmonies and instrumentation in the Bob Dylan vein. Limited to 500.

Incredible Bongo Band
The Return Of The Incredible Bongo Band

The Return Of The Incredible Bongo Band by The Incredible Bongo Band is the follow-up their 1973 classic, Bongo Rock. Bongo Rock was plundered by rappers and producers for samples helping to build the foundation of hip-hop and many other facets of popular music. The Return Of The Incredible Bongo Band has also had it’s best bits harvested by the likes of Bentley Rhythm Ace, Fatboy Slim and Macy Gray. This percussion-heavy groove ride features the skin-smacking talents of Jim Gordon and the perfect percussive prowess of King Errisson.

Oneohtrix Point Never
Replica

‘Replica’ is the first record that Oneohtrix Point Never (Daniel Lopatin) has made in a studio. It shows, too - there’s greater scope and ambition here when compared to earlier releases like ‘Rifts’, with emphasis shifted somewhat (but not wholly) away from synthesisers. Sampling takes a more prominent role - there’s Falty DL and Flying Lotus in this thing - as well as piano vignettes (‘Replica’) and manipulated vocal tracks (‘Child Soldier’). Everything is suffused with an air of computer-age uncanniness.
