Areski / Brigitte Fontaine
Je Ne Connais Pas Cet Homme

Superior Viaduct dropping another vintage '70s reissue, this time Je Ne Connais Pas Cet Homme (I do not know this man). The 42 year old collaboration between Areski and Brigitte Fontaine represents the French avant-garde at its finest, using haunting vocal harmonies and sparse instrumentation to create a time and space machine into a strange fantasy world.

Superchunk
Come Pick Me Up

Recorded in 1999 at Electrical Audio Studios in Chicago and produced by Jim O’Rourke, ‘Come Pick Me Up’ allowed Superchunk to evolve into a more experimental sounds directions including accompaniments from horn sections provided by Ken Vandermark, Jeb Bishop, and Bob Weston and string instrument contributions from Fred Longberg-Holm and Suzanne Roberts.

Richard Buckner
The Hill

Richard Buckner's ‘The Hill’ was born in 1996 at The Ranch Olancha Motel, a converted garage near the mouth of Death Valley, while Buckner was staying a week in a room with nothing for company but his guitar, a four-track recorder, and a copy of Lee ‘Masters' Spoon River Anthology’. The resulting recordings of Buckner’s experiments with passages from the iconic book of poems were then forgotten about until four years later when he would bring them back to life with the help of Calexico's Joey Burns and John Convertino.

Kenny Knight
Crossroads

Private press slice of country rock from 1980, released by a man named Kenny Knight. Crossroads is his only LP and has been rescued from obscurity, in the way that these things are, by the Paradise of Bachelors label. Knight has just the right level of resignation in his voice, and some great little arrangements: worth picking up.

British Sea Power
The Decline Of British Sea Power

2003 was a bit before the vinyl craze we find ourselves in which will explain this reissue of British Sea Power’s debut LP from 2003, The Decline of British Sea Power  - some classic, footstompin' indie rock with solid guitar hooks and catchy choruses. Here we have a vinyl LP reissue, a 2CD issue with extra bits and bobs, a CD Box-set with 2CDs and a DVD all in a fancy casing and an indie exclusive issue of 4CDs, a DVD and 2LPs. Something for everyone there.

Montevideo Blues
Montevideo Blues

The self-titled album by Montevideo Blues, their only release, is rare and exciting, so praise the gods for this LP reissue on Lion Productions. Uruguay’s finest example of 70’s political rock-via-traditional-instruments music, and something quite unlike what’s available elsewhere. Limited to only 500 copies, just so you know!

Jarvis Street Revue
Mr. Oil Man

Jarvis Street Revue hailed from distant Ontario, Canada back in the early 70’s, and the view from there is a strange one, cold and firm and psychedelic. The band’s only album, Mr. Oil Man, is an anti-establishment howl of frustration, reissued at last as a limited LP (only 500 copies) on Lion Productions.

Modest Mouse
Interstate 8

Interstate 8 is the second EP released by US indie band, Modest Mouse. Originally released in 1996, this vinyl has been long out of print and therefore highly sought after by fans and collectors alike. It contains the band's first ever demo recordings which were recorded in Isaac Brock's garage. Recommended!

Capital Letters
Vinyard

UK reggae of the highest order, hailing from 1982 with a roots sound that could fairly be described as classic. Capital Letters best known album was probably this one, Vinyard, so here it is reissued with a smattering of outtakes and a typically high-grade Peel Session. CD or LP formats, out on Greensleeves.

Cerrone
Cerrone IV - The Golden Touch

Apparently there’s never enough European French disco to go around. Straight from the late 70s, Cerrone is finally being reissued on vinyl. We know this is the moment you’ve been dreaming of ever since you heard Music of Life, so that’s why Cerrone IV - the Golden Touch is brought back to life. Get your swing on!

Cerrone
Cerrone VII - You Are The One

Definitely one of Cerrone’s even more groovier efforts, Cerrone VII - You Are the One is an undisputed classic among the lively crowd of Cerrone connoisseurs. Originally released in 1980, it has stood the time as a boogyin, swingin, transposin and high pitched masterpiece of disco europop. Get your boogie on!
