Ladies and Gentleman We Are Floating Into Space was the third album from Spiritualized following the dissolution of Jason Pierce's previous band, Spacemen 3. The album is a tour de force of elaborate space rock, bittersweet melodies and ambitious sonic exploration. It has since become seen as a high point of Pierce's career, leading to the band performing the record in its entirety as part of 2009's 'Don't Look Back' series.

10/10 Richard Customer review, 29th August 2018

Quite simply one of the best LPs of all time. Spiritualized peaked with 'Ladies and Gentlemen...' and have struggled to match those glorious heights ever since. It's the classic 'if you only buy one Spiritualized record...' record.

The first three tracks are worth the price alone - the repetitious vocals overlapping to wonderful effect on the opening title track, through to the bombastic sound of 'Come Together' (those opening drums!) which fades into the hypnotic hymn to heroin 'I Think I'm In Love' with it's classic line 'Love in the middle of an afternoon, just me and my spike in my arm and my spoon'. Heroin is not cool, but you forgive the transgression when the music sounds this damn good.

Amazingly the high level never drops right through to the 17 minute closer 'Cop Shoot Cop...' Along the way we are treated to classic J Spaceman sounds such as gentle tracks 'Stay With Me' and 'Broken Heart', and those tracks that build into squalling feedback drenched tunes (that still manage to remain tuneful) like 'The Individual' and 'No God Only Religion'. It sounds massive, and is not in the slightest bit dated. An absolute classic and an absolute must in anyone's indie / rock collection.

9/10 John Customer review, 23rd June 2016

Melancholy, heartbreak, temper, chaos and love. Great concept for the artwork with the cover like a pillbox and the sleeves like codeine packets; and list of ingredients and a recommended usage guide. Sounds fantastic. Yup!
