Here's a quirky album by DOF called 'Red Pine Pasture'. His last album (Sun, Strength & Shield) was one of the finest examples of folktronica (I fucking hate that word but it does the job sometimes) that has graced my fat ears. On this new album you get a bunch of brand new tracks and a bunch of remixes. The new track see a change in direction as there's vocals on board and it sounds just like a cross between Caribou and Cornelius. The sound is very full with about a million things going on at any given moment yet it's very cohesive and uncluttered on the brain. Bizarre for anything that full sounding to be reasonably easy on the ear. Obviously a talented dude and the remixes aren't too bad either (Low In The Sky, Set In sand etc) but it's the Crillix remix which rocks my world.... funky and fucked sounding glitch pop with a melodic chorus of sorts which is astonishingly good. I've sworn too much in this review which means people at school won't be able to buy this CD. Worra twat.
