Dave Cloud is that odd man who won our SOTW the other day. Various Production love him so much they've done some of their stunning art for his new album 'Pleasure Before Business' which sounds like the entire 60's rolled into one. Dave Cloud is that odd man who won our SOTW the other day. Various Production love him so much they've done some of their stunning art for his new album 'Pleasure Before Business' which sounds like the entire 60's rolled into one. And a whole load of 70s too. He's a bit crazy Arthur Brown, a little Lou reed, a tinge of Iggy Pop, a chunk of Beefheart.....and this album is gibbering, shabby, meandering, hilarious, bizarre psychedelic rock & trashed R'n'B. He's obsessed with booze, drugs, women and dirgy rock. His lyrics are mentalist ramblings from (arguably) the wrongest head ever from the Nashville music biz. He's been doing this for 20+ years apparently but only now is he getting recognised for his wonky, warped outsiderdom. Check out his cover of Mike Curbs 'Mary Jane', enough to make you hesitate before stoking up the ol' green pipe in any great hurry. Unless you're mad. Like us. Best release on Fire since The Close Lobsters. CD only.
