Nobody loves this record. Be the 1st!
6/10 Phil Staff review, 24 January 2008
Oooh what now.... The Harrisons brand new album has finally landed... about a year too late perhaps?? Weren't they releasing singles about a year or so ago? Does anybody care now? The way the music industry moves so quickly these days it's almost like a 3 singles and you're out approach. 'No Fighting In The War Room' opens up with Dear Constable (actually that did come out last June...) and it continues in a similar energetic way throughout the 12 tracks. Well I've heard the 1st half of it 3 times as that's as much as I can cope with so I can only vouch for the 1st half a dozen tracks. They flit between different indie bands like Arctic Monkeys, Maximo Park, The Futureheads and even The Clash at times.... though they don't really have their own sound. It all sounds a wee bit borrowed from them bands I just did list. It's not bad at all and there's some very strong songs. I'd probably say it's potentially quite a strong album... I just think the band need more of their own sound and it's been released at the wrong point. Prove me wrong buying public....
