Loving this wild retro electro from the Dutch archives. 'Trumpett Days' is the sequel to the classic 'Trumpett Sounds' comp of lost cassette gems from the vibrant, progressive and strange early 80's underground vaults. With acts once again displaying their cult genius being The Actor, Ende Shneafliet, Doxa Sinistra, Andre De Koning & A Von Garde (snirk!), amongst others, it's truly a bent widescreen voyage trawling through exhilarating tunes such as these. Overall you get the feeling of schizo, gyrating android synths raising hell with the bastard cousin of Kraftwerk whilst a wheezing army of analogue grandads splutters cathartically every 20 seconds with a splash of warm new wave asthma. Some tunes are minimal excursions into Netherlands Radiophonic Workshop territory, all skewed bloops and clanks, the sound of meditating analogue machines. Yes this is mint music with experimental verve and passion. Warped, fun & ESSENTIAL. Doesn't sound dated either. It's clearly influenced the recent contemporary revival, for fans of early Adult, Solvent, Lowfish & Skanfrom. Older ears may find solace if yr missing the innovation of the Human league, New Order or Soft Cell. My album of the week but who knows?
