Made Of Bricks by Kate Nash

Come on admit it. You've been counting down the days until the 10th anniversary of Kate Nash's debut 'Made of Bricks'. Now known more for being an activist and political mouth piece this harks back to the time she made actual music. She was dead sassy back then - a bit like a perky and tuneful Janet Street Porter

Nash's songs are hauntingly beautiful; my heart was immediately captured by the lyrics and style of "Mariella". This song alone will show you that Nash has serious talent as a songwriter. I like songs that tell stories, and this has plenty of them. "Foundations" and "Mariella" are both songs that you have to listen to all the way through, really paying attention to the lyrics, to absorb. I like that it affects me the same way reading a book or watching a movie does. I see this plot play out in my head, and they're great stories.
