You never know what you're going to get when a new release on Fire drops but one thing is for sure. You can be assured that it will be of quality and fairly miserable. This week we get a 7" from David Hurn. 'The Man Who Stayed In Bed Forever'. I mean imagine the fucking bed sores man... It doesn't bear thinking about. You'd have to get someone to come in twice a week and flip you over with a spatula. Anyway this is a window directly into this mans soul. The lyrics touch on pure human emotions like trust and weakness. The singer songwriters approach is a mature brutally honest one. "I wish I was not so bitter, so I could leave you alone". It's a song that tells a story. Not only is this guy immensely self aware he's a talented multi instrumentalist picking up the guitar, tinkling on the old ivories, percussion, tapes and programming. Splendid.
