Who likes to exercise? Well I do so I should be interested in this piece of music that Nike commissioned James Murphy to make in 2006. I'm not sure though. The mid tempo house chords and Chic-ish melancholy might make me all slovenly on the treadmill but it's a perfect piece of post exercise comedown music. Now re-issued by Rhino who have presumably been given a slap on the wrists,

James Murphy never had any qualms about letting songs go on past the commercially acceptable 3-5 minute range and nowhere was that more obvious than on this "EP." I have to use quotations there because its strange referring to a 60+ minute album as an EP. The album's centrepiece and title track was originally designed to be listened to during a workout and was initially licensed to Nike. Despite being so functional, Murphy actually created something that stands up on its own. You just need to set the right expectations before hitting play.
