Napoleon IIIrd: 'In Debt To' (Brainlove) Debut long player from the Leeds scenester dubbed "most likely to...", honing his chops playing with such famed bands as iLikeTrains, iForward Russia and The Research. Mr phil says they sound like TV On The Radio, don't know whether that's a good thing or a bad thing with my limited knowledge of all this modernist indie and all that. Pitched somewhere between a one man band style busker, meets lo- fi bedroom electronica/folk hybrid, middle England styled observational fixated songwriting ala Albarn et al. He reminds me in a way of master of all styles, genius-maverick that is one time Leeds boffin Charlie Ferrari (Google him), in the way he flits from musical genres and instrumentation that includes noodling playfulness with crooning and solid songwriting skills that includes brash horns, crashing drum beats and squiggly synth lines.Sounds like he can turn his hand to just about any musical approach which is evident on his very fine remix of fellow scenesters Sky Larkin's pop smash 'Keepsakes'. Part of the so-called Leeds music scene regeneration.

10/10 John Customer review,

I am full of ecstasy right now.
