The second solo album from former Soft Machine drummer Robert Wyatt and originally released in 1974, Rock Bottom has always been a painfully disconcerting listen. Written in hospital while recovering from an accident that has confined him to a wheelchair ever since, its abstract and often disturbed sketches are nevertheless shot through with hope.

10/10 Lobo Mau 22nd September 2013
Although by the time this album was composed Robert Wyatt had not yet suffered the accident that left him in a wheelchair for the rest of his life, and was only recorded later, there's a certain touch of sorrow in his singing that creeps under your skin throughout the record.
So I would say this is a very emotional one, although very bright as well. Mind the musical palyndrome, the word play, the subtle intimare tone of what I personally regard as a gem of all modern music: Sea Song. Such lyrical and musically economic perfection is yet unmatched.
10/10, a must-have.
