V/A:Peanut Butter Wolf; '2K8 B-Ball Zombie War' (Stones Throw) Wherein the Stones Throw head honcho compiles some gems from the great and the good of his esteemed roster. As Ii've probably said before this label is singlehandedly probably saved the fate of hip hop the from hands of money hungry folks like P Diddy and Fiddy. Primarily to accompany a new video game this compilation will be snapped up by heads wanting the cuts that include cats like MF DOOM, Guilty Simpson, Q-Tip and Talib Kweli rhyming over two monstrous beats from the late great J Dilla's final opus 'Donuts'. Furthermore we have some exclusives from Madlib's many aliases that include rock hardbeats, jazz inflected jams, some soul/R'n'B style party rockers from Aloe Blacc not to mention some mean flowing b-boy jams from Oh No, Percee P (the fast rapper). Damn fine comp from a label that keeps my faith in mdern music...
