"This album kicks ass" is what Dean Ween had to say about La Cucaracha when it was initially released in 2007. He says that despite writing, recording and playing on it and probably hearing it every single day of his life. So to new listeners it must sound even more special, right? This would, however, prove to be Ween's final album and was later called a "a big piece of shit" by Dean's partner in crime Gene Ween. No wonder they split.

7/10 Jack Customer review, 22nd September 2015
I'm rather taken with Ween, so keep that in mind. This album rates about 3 1/2 stars compared to their other output, but rates higher compared to the stale mainstream pop radio you'll hear today. Personally, I think that the highlights outshine some of the warts on this record. "Learning To Love", "Blue Balloon", the sublime "Your Party", Deaner vocals on "Sweetheart in the Summer", and the ultra tasty jam out of "Woman and Man" still make this album a solid purchase. To me, Ween rights some the catchiest yet craziest music out there.
