Great Pop Supplement do it again with a cracking 5 band split 10" job. And it doesn't feature any old toss... oh no. On 'It Happened In A Day' you get exclusive songs by Tunng, Woodcraft Folk, Laughing Windows, Shady Bard & Adam Leonard with PG Six. Class!! There's only 1000 of these suckers so don't dawdle. And we've got 'em before anyone else which is a bit of a scoop for us here! Tunng open up the proceedings with an incredible tune. It's one of their best I reckon..... if you bought the ep for this one track you' won't feel hard done to. I'm not gonna go into what Tunng sound like cos you really should know now. Fortunately Woodcraft Folk pop along with a weird little electronic ditty which could be mistaken for some of the Ghost Box stuff with some weird vocals? Possibly a bit White Noisey? The unheard band on here for me are Laughing Windows who's psyche sounding tune is ridiculously catchy...and it clocks in like a more folk sounding Spacemen 3/ Spiritualized filmic thing with a real paranoid feel to it. It's a really claustrophobic tune. Shady Bard's turn next with the gentle miserable approach to things which will make you run for the razor blades.... this one is quite orchestral sounding and they have that grandiose Coldplay thing going on yet it sounds completely fragile at the same time.... Go figure. The EP ends with Adam Leonard and PG Six which is a beautiful blues/ psych/ Syd Barret influenced sounding tune to finish the proceedings. Fantastic stuff and well worthy of the coveted single of the week prize!!
