8/10 Mingus 19 July 2007
The Twilight Sad: "And She Would Darken The Memory" (Fatcat) More quiet-loud-quiet vocal gymnastics sung in Scot's brouge from the Sadders. Can't make my mind up to describe this as post-rock or folk-rock as it sits between both camps, it starts out chiming and droning only to get increasingly intense-building to a wall of sound type crescendo to end. The flip side has a "decomposed" version of "That Summer, At Home I Had Become The Invisible Boy"

i cant recommend The Twilight Sad enough. b-side is rather good Ensemble's remix of their previous single 'That Summer At Home...'... recommended! look out also for the new Stereogum compilation 'OKX: A Tribute to OK Computer' where The Twilight Sad cover 'Climbing Up The Walls' and do it rather brilliantly!
