The Sound Of Young America by The Voices

Wales psych heavyweights the Voices released the Sound of Young American in 2007 but then everyone forgot about it. Thankfully the good people at the aptly named Drone Rock records heard it and decided to give it a vinyl second life. It's great stuff, full of intense jams that recall Spacemen 3 and My Bloody Valentine.

Vinyl LP £16.99 DRR024

Heavyweight black vinyl LP on Drone Rock Records. Edition of 250 copies.

The Voices release their debut (I think) on My Kung Fu called The Sound Of Young America. This is great shoegazey rock with hints of Spacemen 3, My Bloody Valentine (Loveless era), Slowdive and all your other favourite shoegazey bands. It's 100% completely derivative but for what it is it's extremely well executed and they clearly have a passion for this sort of music. That coupled with the fact that shoegazing is well in at the mo means this could do pretty well. Nice!
