The Pigeon Detectives: "Wait For Me". They're from Leeds but wether they were born here I don't know. Apparently massive, selling out the local Town hall for a forthcoming show. This is the sort of stuff they (the man, the music press) used to call 'power pop', short, sharp snappy sing-a-shout-a-long ditties about not getting the girl. My opinion will in no way affect this groups' destiny, their fan base is already established so they seem to pushing all the right buttons. Musically they are very simillar to Leeds' other favourites The Kaisers, with as much success indicated it won't be long before well hear their tunes blasting out of cop vans on Saturday night patrols. This debut LP epitimises the resurgence of guitar-led pop, it's popularity and rock's hoary old legacy. Question is, what will their experimental album sound like?
