New on the ever dependable Type is The North Sea's (aka Brad Rose) "Exquisite Idols". You'd think it was full of sea shanties with a title like that, inside though is a collection free-folk styled harmonium drones, flutes and guitar picking. So what's with this nu folk?, hippy devotion?, spirituality?, myths and folklore? Maybe its a return to basics after the fashionable complexity of electronica, or a sign of our dark times, who knows. This album will appeal as much to fans of Vibracathedral Orchestra., Flower / Corsano and some of Fonal's output.
