Now the S-1 Committee with their debut album REF.#13.841. The vocals are recorded in the toilet school of reverb and dominate the mix making it sound a bit psychedelic like Jesus and the Mary Chain. It's a pretty DIY album which touches on cheeky pop disguised beneath a wave of atonal vocals that struggle to hit the right notes. If I was Simon Cowell I'd be in ecstasy with some self satisfying put down. That said, it's certainly got an awkward charm and once we're over the predictable opening song we're into some pretty interesting pop with crazy sythns mixing with a melodic bass line all coming together for some weirdly uplifting stuff (A drunk Belle and Sebastian if kept awake for 3 full days would sound like this). These boys are feeling it and you cant help but feel it too.
