6/10 gbar Customer review, 16th April 2017
Hope for Men seems to have that energy you get with live studio recordings and that's because Pissed Jeans have built its sound purely on raw, improvised live performance rather than constant overdubbing that would ultimately destroy what they're trying to achieve. I'll say this about Pissed Jeans: These guys have got that classic 'punk rock' attitude, and it seems they enjoy taking pot shots at the world through certain customs and demographics (especially those that reminds you of your own flaws constantly). You can easily hear that attitude in every crash of the cymbal and every ray of feedback from the guitar. Tracks such as "The Jogger" and "Scrapbooking" for example are the usual noise rock schtick: Spoken (or even shouted) vocals that is backed by crackling feedback and minimal musical ideas. To the outside fan, this could get old rather quickly, but then again, repetition is key when it comes to Pissed Jeans.
