8/10 Mingus Staff review, 20 April 2007
Moving away from pop towards more marginal tastes is a newie from KK Null: "Fertile" aka Kazuyuki Kishino, ex guitarist now cult electronic sound artist bracketed alongside Merzbow in his explorations in noise and sound works. This particular set on Touch follows collaborations with Zev, Chris Watson and includes compositions as well as field recordings at Northern Territory in Australia. Expect micro/macro waves of dissonance, grains, pulses and heavy pulverising grind-pores punctuated by splintered fragments of molten metal, pure tone waves and what sound like the percussive sounds of insects in nature.
