10/10 Jack Customer review, 26th September 2015
If Fear of Music showed Talking Heads consolidating and perfecting the quirky, innovative sound of their initial phase, Speaking in Tongues is where they completely incorporated the world beat and funk explorations of Remain in Light and made them their own. This was the group's warmest and most exuberant disc since More Songs about Buildings and Food, humorous and light on its feet where Remain in Light had been overpowering and maybe just a little forbidding. This was also, sad to say, their last great album as a band
