10/10 Robert James Customer review, 16th April 2007I have read the other reviews on this site and I must say first and foremost that I don't think Miss Cowper has listened to the right album. For a start the album isn't 50 minutes long and she should maybe consider sticking to reviewing episodes of Friends. Anyway lets get to this brilliant Album, this young producer has made a record that fans of this genre will truly appreciate, Mr. Clarke's debut album will blow your mind. It's a truly uplifting experience that makes the day go by with a lot more enjoyment. Mr. Clarke has made an album which is unique and has avoided all of the usual monotonous loops, beeps and whistles that every other producer out there seems to use. He is a pioneer and has a great future ahead of him. Genius. A must buy.
10/10 Mark Customer review, 15th April 2007This album is simply fantastic.
I heard of it through a friend a few weeks back, and decided to give it a go.
Each track is completely unique, tireless, and engaging. There's no reliance upon catchy, but ultimately soul destroying, hooks or choruses (chori?), as each track develops fully into a perfect affirmation of brilliance.
Essentially, it represents everything I've wished Radiohead could put together in one of their instrumental tracks, but have so far been utterly unable to.
2/10 Jill Cowper Customer review,
What can i say about this album...Well the first thing is that it was a waste of 50 minutes of my life that i'll never get back again. I'm tempted to bill the composer for the 40 minutes i spent on the phone to the samaritans afterwards. It's pretentious shite that can only be appreciated by deaf people and dogs with exceptional hearing, and i'm being kind here too. It reminded me of an episode of friends when Ross thought he could compose music too. I didn't like that episode either.Mr Clarke doesn't seem to grasp the basic fundimentals of patterns and structures when composing electronica, and maybe it's time he went back to his bontempi organ and got some practice and leave the big toys to the big boys.
