9/10 Phil Staff review, 04 April 2007

Dischord has been banging out records since year dot and this week we've decided to give our coveted album of the week to ANTELOPE with their cracking full length debut Reflector. The 1st time we heard this our ears pricked up in some post punk kind of ear pricking up experience. It's less than 30 minutes long so it doesn't out stay it's welcome. Short albums are what we need in this age of no attention span. In a nugget, we have  a jerky post punk unrock fest but there's much more to it. It's completely stripped down to the basics with the drums, bass, guitar and vocals sparsely weaving between each other to make some really special sounding tunes. It all sounds so effortless. Reflector is tight as a gnat's chuff..... I bet these are the dogs knackers live. I wrote a lot more than this but took it out cos I felt it was superfluous. I've said enough. It's a great record and we heartily endorse its goodness.

10/10 brian dangerhose Customer review,

Well thankyou Norman records. On first listen this album 'Reflector' by Antelope is just terrific. The first thing that floors me is it's blatant Krautrock-esque propulsion. The metronomic use of cool minimalist percussion with a hearty blast of agitated new wave dynamics ala Gang of Four mixed with a dressing of classic post hardcore melodicism. It's fresh, stripped back & itchy as hell. The songs are irresistably brittle & brief, airy & punchy. The vocals glide over the top, brimming with a barely audible excorcism The kinda uncluttered & free music with soul that leaves you in no doubt the US underground is as vibrant as ever. Class.
