It's weird reviewing this after so long and feeling a little bored of it. Well, bored of "Sexy Boy" at least. It was so overplayed back in the day, 1998 I seem to recall. So thinking about the album, my knee-jerk reaction would be to scream and tear my hair out. However, when you listen to it again you are reminded of the Herbie Hancock-esque soft space-funk of the opening track "La Femme D'Argent". I'm even finding the aforementioned "Sexy Boy" working for me. There's a pair of slow and soulful ballads in "All I Need" and "You Make It Easy" which add another fab dimension to the album. "Kelly Watch The Stars" replaced "Sexy Boy" on MTV in frequency and almost grew to be something else I never wanted to hear again.
It is a neatly produced and undeniably catchy, though. "Remember" wraps Air's brand of retro space electronica around a similar beat the Beach Boys used for "Do It Again". "Ce Matin La" is an instrumental that is reminiscent of Burt Bacharach. Closing track "La Voyage De Penelope " reminds me of the later part of Pink Floyd's "Dark Side Of The Moon". It is a classic. Overplayed, but a classic and if you don't own it, you should.
