'The Bends' was Radiohead's second LP and the one that marked a sea change from their early grungy rock towards the more nuanced arty and sometimes abrasive music they make today. It features several of their more well known songs such as 'Fake Plastic Trees' and 'Street Spirit' and it's more synth led, experimental tone slowly points forward to future classics such as 'OK Computer' and 'Kid A'.

In 1995, a slightly-popular alt-rock band called Radiohead released their second album, The Bends, and suddenly their bubble of isolation burst and they found themselves in the spotlight. In the minds of many fans, it was on The Bends that Radiohead was truly born. This is good old Radiohead playing good old rock. The Bends is not as complex as Ok Computer, not as experimental as their Kid A/Amnesiac era and not as balanced as their recent efforts, but it sure is beautiful, musically and lyrically and also a freaking classic.

What can I say? One of the best Radiohead albums, and they are one of the best bands in existence today according to me, so...
