8/10 Ant Staff review, 14 February 2007
It's been a while since I've heard anything from former Spymania artist MDK. It's nice to see he's still at it with an appearance on Belgium's WeMe Records with a spanking new 12". 'A Theme' is aimed straight at the dance floor with it's sub low chest pummeling  bassline and dark tech-step atmospherics. The percussion has a nice crisp tweak and keeps the groove going by not falling into the current mangle it beyond all recognition trap. 'Squipip' on the flip goes for a complete change of direction with a 4/4 slightly wonky stompin'  techno/ house hybrid with syrupy flow, while millions of tiny robotic insects buzz and squeak their way around you're cochlea and into you're cerebral cortex.  To remind us that MDK can tackle any style with admirable results 'Vreme' slaps you round the noggin with a hip/hop breakbeat track complete with Arabic female vocal sample. Definitely a functional / useful record for DJ's.

8/10 MDK Customer review,

Thanks for the nice write up Ant, just to be pedantic the vocal samples are from Macedonia and Bulgaria. Most of the sampled backing in Vreme is from the legendary Pece Atanasovskihttp://www.phantomr... the best,Martin.
