6/10 Brian Staff review, 15 February 2007
Kind of like the single by AUTOKAT although I think their banal name sullies their lasting power considerably. It suggests a bunch of no-marks who may have fluked a 1 off split single with Esmerelda's Parakeet on Lissy's in 1997 before a disasterous gig behind Clapham bus terminal came to an unruly climax when a glue sniffer died in their bass drum 30 seconds in. 'Shot' is on Akoustik Anarkhy, a label that usualy puts a deep frown of indifference on my massive face. However it's got an Interpol-ly intro which is allowed now it's really unfashionable & a sparky intensity that grows into a kind of flailing bout of rifferama. They've kind of a similar bombastic feel to Nine Black Alps, not particularly original but if you like good quality meat 'n' Potatoes indie rock with loads of meshed guitars & a spot of athletic zeal then you'll possibly be rather impressed! B-sides tollerable & reasonably catchy too!
