10/10 Penrith Steve Customer review, 23rd July 2015

It worries me that this album is being forgotten about. If I talk to anyone under 30 about music these days they bang on about utter rubbish like Editors. This is Teenage Fanclub's best album. From the feedback squeaks followed by the opening G chord and melodic bliss of "The Concept" to understated anthem that is "Guiding Star" this is perfect. I'm kind of ignoring the Big Country-esque instrumental "Is This Music" that closes the album as it is the low point, but I really don't think it should detract from the rest of this brilliant album. It is the distillation of their influences: The Beatles, Big Star, Creedence Clearwater Revival, The Beach Boys and The Bevis Frond that make the Teenage Fanclub sound. "Star Sign", "December", "Sidewinder", "Alcoholiday", "Pet Rock" ahhh! this is brilliant and you really should own a copy.
