JULIE DOIRON is back with her first album in 2 years. 'Woke Myself Up' features band Eric's Trip (possibly named after a track on Sonic Youth classic 'Daydream Nation'). This is more of her melancholy brand of female singer songwriter acoustic guitar gear that's terribly pleasant. On 'Swan Pond' I particularly like the way her voice is split into both channels (That's the left and the right for those of you who are of sub-normal education). If you're a fan then you're gonna like it. I can listen to this for a bit but get the feeling it could become a bit whingy after a while. Not necessarily a bad thing like. You get a bonus video of 'Me And My Friend' on there too. We have a load of her back catalogue, in fact a load of the Jagjaguwar catalogue in at bargain prices so have a sniff about and you'll have enough change to buy a case of kleenex to mop up your tears of empathy.
