There's records so beautifully crap they are fantastic beyond belief. XEROX TEENS have just made another classic in 'Onkawara', a funky bastard of a tune. Hip shakin, addictive & fun with slightly deranged Gary Numan meets Mark E Smith meets Jack White gutter moan. Then suddenly a kind of yearning pissed Southern yelp/bark. The b-side, the equally catchy as a big sod 'B54' comin atcha like a solid, tripped out & twangy blend of repetition rock (the drummer is a right spaced out psycho-loon, like Bez crossed with animal on sedatives), with largely spoken Lou Reed meets Mike Skinner vox! Grrroovin, hypnotic, snaky & oh so a bit bloody weird, Xerox Teens are my faveourite band from London these days. Serious. 7" only on Big Billy records. (top old skool silly artwork as well)
