The next album to ease my ears into the day is 'Matanuska'.The latest work from RAMESES III. A warm sonic blend of drones, acoustic tones and organic field recordings of birds, water etc.. A less weird Ginungagap spring to mind on the title track. I think this may well appeal to those of you that are digging stuff like James Blackshaw and Sir Richard Bishop although the guitar here is more subtle allowing the ambient drones and rich textures to absorb the listener into what is a very rewarding experience. Haha check me out. I'm all serious this week. They should give me a job at The Wire. 'Hmm yes this sounds like the mating ritual of Malaysian pole cats'. Great stuff indeed on Music Fellowship.
