By sheer coincidence the next thing on the deck is another one from the JIM O'ROURKE archive. 'Oscillators And Guitars' was composed and recorded in 1992 and like all quality music this has stood the test of time. This is a single 18min 25sec piece that would put a lot of the current drone stuff to shame. Listening to this makes you realise that Earth weren't the only ones creating heavy droney noise back then. This probably should have been called 'Oscillators And Guitars And Effects' but I'll let him off. Like a lot of this stuff, on the surface their seems to be little going on but as you listen and become absorbed, this really does take you on a sonic journey. Quality stuff indeed. I should also inform you that this is actually a split 12" with THOMAS ANKERSMIT whose track 'Weerzin' is constructed with Computer, Serge and EMS Synths and sax. It begins with static sounds, pulses and clicks which conjour up images of the insect world. Not unlike Hecker in places as the noise is introduced which eventually climaxes in what sounds like a load of bag pipes posessed by Beezelbub. Excellent sounds courtesy of Tochnit Aleph.
