MAPSTATION on the deck next. It's been a wee while since I've listened to anything on Pole's Scape label. Mapstation is of course Stephan Schneider. We all know that one thing German electronic produces do well is minimal house (see Kompakt). They also do Dub infected techno extremely well (see Basic Channel, Monolake etc.) 'In The Loss Of Clarity' is the skeleton of a minimal house track but with all the deepness and subtleties of the dub genre that keep the music evolving. 'Something Else Gets Heard' is the title of the B-side and sums up exactly how this music works. At first you think there's little going on but when you really LISTEN you realise that there's actually lots happening. That's the secret of minimal you know. This track is a little like a down tempo Robert Hood type cut with a nice little acid squelch in there. Quality. TRY...
