I've never really got Stephen Merritt. I've tried a few times and never understood....until now! We just got THE GOTHIC ARCHIES CD which is indeed the man Mr Merritt himself and he's done an imaginary soundtrack to Lemony Snickett's inspired books 'A Series of Unfortunate Events'. This is ace....his voice is somewhere between Neil Hanlon and Ian Curtis. Musically it's dark and very enchanted. Overblown and eerie this delightful feast of dark evil tunes has a real magical quality which will have you wanging toads nads and hens teeth into a big cauldron in no time at all. Overall it has a very Tim Burton feel to it so if you're into that dark gothy wierdness you'll totally love this. Think I might have to have one!!
