Those who dug the Putney Swope soundtrack from last week will also be interested in the 'POUND' various artists 10" we just got in on the same label (Fortune Teller). This is released in an edition of 500 and it's 4 tracks of early 70's funk soul with stacks of attitude. Lame Motherfucker is a great tune. I'm not just being puerile... this has more soul and feeling than 99% of the chaff that half of the wannabee mulletheads we stock. Mind you no one's gonna buy this cos it's not hip and there won't be anything written about it in this weeks Smash Hits style NME.

10/10 Valentina Customer review,

Not as rare as the original private pressing in the 70s, but this is pretty hard to find..even though it's just come out. The music is odd and rocks. Funky, psychedelic with offensive punk-style lyrics before punk. Remember this is only from 1970.

Have you heard the story about the film POUND? The studio thought they were getting a cartoon and freaked when they saw Robert Downey Sr's cast of druggy actors pretending to be dogs!!

They destroyed everthing to do with the film. So it is amazing this even came out!

Someone said the band are Elephant's Memory. Others have hinted at the composer being a pseudonym of JACK NITZSCHE.
