Cursive have always been a band driven by themes and policies, but Tim Kasher upped the ante on Happy Hollow, crafting a majestic concept album about the failed application of the American dream. It's a change up from the sinister romances of Domestica and The Ugly Organ, and the result is a more musically diverse record with a few new directions to shoot off into. Kasher's still miserable as shit, though.
