Also, The Besnard Lakes have a wicked 10" out on t'caravan. It's a load of fat, pissed wasps stuck in Sonic Boom's flange-drone box trying to escape cos they're late for an important wasp soccer match then they're off! Stripy scarves a-waving in the sunlight. Oh shit, I played it at the wrong speed. It's actually a tender blend of chiming ethereal guitars, Valentines tremelo (that was the wasps..) understated drum machine & wistful vocals hanging onto the shirtails of a perfect post-shoegazing slice of melancholy. For fans of the poppier end of Low, Galaxie 500 & Spiritualized. It kinda sounds Australian but is actually Canadian & could have been released on Sarah did it not sound so NOW.
