Thank God for Australians. Here we have three new releases on the ever great Chapter Music. The first two are Japanese bands. First  up we have Tenniscoats who play a remarkable ramshackle breed of semi improvised music blending horns, organs and clattery drums with lovely vocals.  The music has an incredible naive charm that is nearly driving me to tears. I'm reminded at times of Movietone but mostly Maher Shalal Hash Baz.....ie it always seems just a heartbeat away from a sax solo or lengthy guitar exploration. This is the type of record that you could see coming out on Stephen Pastel's Geographic Imprint....
