Om's second full-length album is a wonderfully self-assured work that illustrates how great music can be made using a very basic set-up, in this case one bass guitarist (Al Cisneros) and one drummer (Chris Hakius) playing ambiguously simple yet strong and melodic bass lines with clear and precise drumming throughout. There's just two songs on this album, "At Giza" and "Flight of the Eagle", both of which lasts over 15 minutes each, and this fact in itself hints at the musicians' complete understanding (and trust) in each other's abilities as they are playing throughout with very few clear breaks, no back-up musicians and barely any overdubs. However, Om manages to keep their music optimistic without straying into the mainstream area, which deserves a mention. There is only one small issue, which is the length of this album. I feel that they could've added another 10 minute song just to give this release a bit more meat to it. Despite this, this is probably my favourite release from Om.
