If you've always wondered where to start with Simon Joyner but were too afraid to ask then this compilation LP could be the answer. Joyner has fans in the biz such as Conor Oberst of Bright Eyes but his own career has been more understated. Beautiful Losers does what it says on the sub-heading and collect together rare singles and compilation tracks from the early part of his career.

More Alt Country for you guys. A Simon Joyner singles and compilation tracks collection spanning from 1994-1999 called 'Beautiful losers'. Expect the usual formula of lo-fi guitar, harmonica and whining vocals. I like depressing music and all but this doesn't evoke any emotions in me whatsoever. Its kind of like early Bob Dylan with some Daniel Johnston in his vocal. I'm sure this music comes from his soul but I just can't connect with it. He's just moaning most of the time. I bet he got bullied at school.
