8/10 Clinton Staff review, 27 November 2006
Here's a 7" by Sporting Hero. I don't know about anyone else but my sporting hero is Clayton Donaldson. The first track here is great  - it starts with a Peter Frampton style guitar and ends almost before it starts. The second track is that kind of  Irish sounding. The sort of song performed atop a piano by some drunken old soak in an Irish bar as it approaches closing time. I've flipped the record over and am now on side B. This is quite strange stuff. The first song sits somewhere between 10CC and The Beta Band or Lone Pigeon and the second is a  guitar and piano duet with a flamenco feel. An odd record but quite enjoyable. On Switchflicker
