Deerhoof. Blinking mental angular prog stagger yelp specialists that used to sound like Oxes meets Genesis at a Melt Banana concert. But now they're so much more inexplicable than that. Now we have the 7 track 'Green Cosmos' E.P. Lighter & more melodic in touch these days, they haven't lost any sense of the absurd. Avant-garde with a pure understanding of pop dynamics, progressive without being remotely boring, multi layered soundscapes with more twists & turns than the spaghetti junction & that intriguing cooing girl's voice that spills more wonder & mystique than any other (& probably a whole load of absolute cobblers too...) CD of the week as ATP seem to think that vinyl's dead the absolute idiots.
