6/10 Brian Staff review, 28 November 2006
In this climate of continually desperate bands all forming hurriedly in the hope of making a fast buck off the back of a scene that's just about ready to burst It's banks (I.E. the new wave of old post punk), I can honestly say It's a blessed relief Brett Anderson & Bernard Butler have reunited to form The Tears. Debut single 'Refugees' is everything that was great about Suede (a band you actually appreciate later in the day - I loathed them at the time) & the epic David McAltmont collaborations. The Bowie-isms are all too evident, a bit mawkish & overwrought on the b-side but the a's a radio shagging treat & will totally satisfy all fans of the trashy previous incarnation....
