Mirror Moves by The Psychedelic Furs

Mirror Moves was The Psychedelic Furs fourth album. Released in 1984, it came 7 years into their career and by then, the gritty, punky, art-rock sound had been refined and smoothed out. The furs found the sweet spot where the balance of distorted guitars and acerbic lyrics brought chart success rather than obscurity.

8/10 Jack 30th November 2015

This record was my real introduction to this band - The Furs' Mirror Moves - which is one of the albums from the 1980s that I would have to classify as a "desert island record". The production values are much slicker here and the sound is more refined and processed. However, while it lacks the bite of previous Psychedelic Furs' efforts, this album is just plain fun. Standout tracks include: "Ghost in You", "Heartbeat", "Alice's House", and "Here Come Cowboys". If you like 80s pop-rock at all, you need to own this one.
