Oh..... we are doing Vespertine (and Sons) mail order now so we are the people to ask about purchasing any of their wares. To celebrate, we have in stock a brand new CD on said label. The Otto Show is a CD of the acoustic bedroom meanderings of a one Otto Smart made throughout the 1980's. The album is charm itself. Lovely acoustic pop with catchy melodies. Sometimes it comes on like a lo-fi Paddy Mcaloon strumming away in some back bedroom in darkest 1984 or Stuart Murdoch (Belle and Sebastian) fiddling about on a 4 track, worshipping Felt from a distance but often it recalls the Montgolfier Brothers . Although the primary instrument is guitar and vocal the detached musical dexterity of Robert Wyatt comes to mind and I'm also thinking of pre Everything but the Girl Ben Watt. All in all a fantastic bag full of lost gems that despite the naivety and bedroom production reveal some magical moments.
