Long Hair In Three Stages was the debut album of '90s noisy guitar heroes US Maple. It was recorded with Jim O’Rourke in 1995, and reappears here in two vinyl formats on Skingraft. Alongside the regular vinyl version, is a crazy metal-sleeved collectors version, of which no two are alike. A treat for the eyes and hands, with a bonus treat for the ears, in the form of an extra track.

8/10 Jack Customer review, 30th November 2015

The first song by U.S. Maple I heard was called I've Found A Place to Put My Kittens, or something like that. What a title! I was immediately drawn to the stylistic vocals as well as the free-form instrumental interplay. Letter to ZZ Top blows me away on this album. These guys are smart musicians. They seem to be taking traditional jazz technique as a starting point, before taking off in a much more "loose" direction. Their sound marries the primitive with the complex. People seem to love them or hate them...which is usually a good sign.
