Under The Western Freeway was the debut album by Grandaddy. Now, to coincide with the 20th anniversary of its release it gets a double LP reboot featuring some extra tracks in the form of previously unreleased demos that fans of the band will relish. It is arguably the band’s finest work and features such classics as AM 180, Summer Here Kids and Everything Beautiful Is Far Away.

8/10 Jack Customer review, 28th November 2017
Modesto's Grandaddy could be accurately described as a close cousin of Mark Linkous's Sparklehorse. Both bands employ unforgettable melodies, poetic lyrics and lo-fi production techniques. And both are as adept at playing slower, plaintive ballads as they are at delivering crunching Pixies style rock. As long as one can get used to the myriad of electronic effects the band so subtly and craftily uses, this album won't grow old. Grandaddy has not made a recording that isn't lacking; all are extremely solid.
